Manish Arora is one of the most celebrated Indian fashion designers based in New Delhi. The quirky designer boasts of critical acclaim from the industry insiders and a dedicated following outside the industry too. After partially pursuing a degree in Commerce, he decided to change his career path and applied for National Institute of Fashion and Technology, New Delhi. He graduated in 1994 and also won the Best Student Award. He then went on to secure second place in a Smirnoff Fashion Competition and in 1995, he took part in Young Asian Designers competition, where he won the second place.

The bold colours and eccentric design aesthetics used by Arora caught the attention of editors at French Vogue. In 2002, Manish opened his first flagship store in New Delhi. He also participated in numerous international fashion weeks, like the Miami Fashion Week in 2005 followed by the London Fashion Week. His designs have made him very popular with western celebrities, with Katy Perry being his first overseas client. Among Indian celebrities, Sonam Kapoor is one of his most loyal customers. Manish Arora has also collaborated on many creative partnerships with brands like MAC Cosmetics, SWATCH, Swarovski Elements and Mercedes Benz.

Indian by Manish Arora is the designer’s Indian ethnic label which is inspired by his travels. The designer has drawn inspiration from Topkapi Palace which is rich in Ottoman architecture, Kosovo brides, Balinese doors and Chinese operas. The collection boasts of an amazing mix of mirror work and bead work. Like every Manish Arora collection, this one is also an extension of his personality, cast around Indian tradition with a contemporary twist to it.
