Help Your Skin Beat The Winter Blues

Winter season is fun for a lot of reasons, mainly because of the weather and also because it’s vacation time. It’s every girl’s dream to have a soft skin in the dead of winter. However, dry and frigid air outside usually leaves it parched, making it unable to repair itself.

This is why we all need to follow winter skin care and to help you out, here are some tips which you can follow to avoid excessive dryness.

  1. Cleansing, Toning and Moisturizing:

Cleansing is a routine which should be religiously followed all throughout the year, regardless of what season it is. However, in winters you can cut down the number of times you wash your face in the day to just 2 times. Alternatively, you can cleanse your face with cold milk and cotton ball to cut the excessive dryness.

Toning is recommended for everyone who have concerns related to skin ageing, else you can leave your pores open for oil secretion.

Moisturizing is recommended not just for dry skin, but for all skin types. Natural moisturisers like warm almond oil or extra virgin olive oil can be used for a night massage routine. You can also mix the oil with your lotion.

2. Stay hydrated 

Drinking lots of water is essential, as it will keep your body and skin hydrated in the dry weather.

3. Packs and Hacks which you can use: 

a. Honey and Sugar scrub – A mix of honey and sugar can soften dry patches on rough elbows and knees.

b. Aloe vera – It is known for its moisturising properties and can be used as a face moisturiser. It will relieve your face from all the dryness and enhance its texture by making it soft and smooth.

c. Banana face pack – Mashed ripe banana is a great moisturising agent. Take 4 to 5 tbspn of mashed ripe banana and massage it on your face. Wash your face after 10 minutes and give your face a massage with honey, go in circular motions. Massage it for 10 minutes and end it by using a toner.
